Matthew Pray
Co-Founder | Managing Partner
Matthew has a curiosity and admiration for all things designed. He relishes in the unique challenges within engineering and admires the ingenuity of the 3D printing industry. From an early age, Matt immersed himself in CAD programs to help his father create multiple design changes to their family home. By the time he turned 18, he had applied his creativity to a multi-year Architects Apprenticeship Program within his community. He knows learning never stops and experience is his best guide.
We enjoy meeting new clients who have a manufacturing process in place that needs to be revised, reinvigorated and modernized.
Bringing comprehensive solutions to his customers is what Matt enjoys most. He has a knack for pinpointing exactly what his customers are looking for and thrives on creating extensions of those solutions within multiple facets of their business. “We do not look at our company or ourselves as printer salesmen. We enjoy meeting new clients who have a manufacturing process in place that needs to be revised, reinvigorated and modernized. This is where we can provide value to a customer.”
Matthew has over 15 years of combined experience in the 2D and 3D printing industries. He began his career working for Toryon Technologies; a Chicago based wide format printer reseller. After switching gears and working in the insurance industry for 8 years, Matt decided he would like to return to the distribution business model and launched Beckatt Solutions. “A large part of my decision to come back to this market was the fact that there had been overwhelming advancements and excitement in the additive manufacturing world. I felt it was a great fit and the right time for me.”
Matthew earned his BA degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in May of 2000. He currently volunteers as a mentor for School District 220’s incubator program while continuing to grow one of Chicagoland’s most prominent 3D Printer distributorships. Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife, a Vice President of Marketing, and his two children.
